From the fall of 1970 to the spring of 1976, a team of music teachers and their students who played in the Symphonic Band at Lake Highlands High School created a revolutionary band sound, which today is regarded as legendary. The magic force behind this legend was Mr. Eddie Green.
In this documentary, many of the principle music educators: Eddie Green, Bob Brandenberger, Carroll Cantrell, Jim Irwin, Claire Johnson, and Dr. Michael Mamminga discuss Mr. Green's vision and leadership in achieving a higher standard of musical excellence. Hear their stories about team teaching and intense rehearsals. Share their passion for teaching students the beauty of music while listening to digitally remastered performances from the Symphonic Band. Witness their weaving of a tapestry of personal musical experiences into the lives of their students.
See for the first time, the impact this legacy has had on students' lives as they were reunited in the summer of 2004 to relive the magic and play together again for the first time in 30 years!
